Clearinghouse Registration
No motorist is required to register, however those who fall into one of the following categories must do so:
- To access your electronic data that has been stored in the clearinghouse.
- To enable a query request from an employer, always for pre-employment.
- To enable an employer to conduct a comprehensive search when a limited search reveals that the Clearinghouse has data on the specific driver.
The driver will lose his or her eligibility for the FMCSA carrier safety administration position if they don't register and give permission for inquiries in the aforementioned situations. Registration for the Clearinghouse can be aided.
